A little over a year ago I was complaining to my husband about fashion magazines – how even the “bargains” are things most normal women can’t afford and how the fashion advice seems useless to anyone who isn’t a size 2 or an independently wealthy socialite who doesn’t need clothes or beauty tips for real life.
At the end of my rant, he had just one thing to say: “So change it.”
A La Mode is my attempt to do that. It’s a blog devoted to fashion, shopping, beauty, and other related topics for real women who live in the real world. Women with a budget, an ass, a personality, and a real life. Because we deserve to look and feel fabulous too!

I stumbled on this site from Twitter. I def like your concept. I was curious as to why you’ve chosen to keep it on a (dot) wordpress and not make your site? You’d have more flexibility and it’s easier for Google to find you. Just curious…

The simple truth is, I don’t know web coding or design and don’t currently have the funds to pay someone to do it for me. I’d like to eventually move to an individual site, though.

I’ve got a marketing biz and we’re good on strategy, but need to ramp up some of the blogging biz. If you’re ever interested…we’ll set you up with a custom site. We use wordpress too so the transition is easy. The only costs to you would be domain which I runs about $9 / yr depending on who you use. And hosting, which is around 6-9 / month.
